set the zippers free he hung up the phone and slid the rectangular device into his pocket, he headed for the door and turned only to lock the dead bolt, not doing so would have been tempting fate. he took the stairs, always preferring the short exercise as opposed to being cramped in a small box full of strangers. he was in the lobby within minutes, and it took only seconds to bypass the crowd and walk out into the adjoining parking lot. he moved without hesitation towards the charcoal colored vehicle. he clicked the unlock button on his key chain and easily slid into the drivers seat.seconds after starting the engine he was pulling out, throwing the car into reverse. he tapped the brake and switched gears, and then he was creeping towards the exit at a sluggish pace. once out on the main street he picked up spreed, weaving in and out of traffic precisely. the first stop he made was at the local drug store, he needed to pick up condoms, if only because he'd promised jen. ten minutes later he was climbing into the front seat, tossing his spoils onto the passenger seat.he slid out, back onto the main road, this time when he stopped he was just outside of a chinese place. he was in and out in just five minutes, the bag containing his food settled easily in his left hand. upon entering his car he placed the bag on the floor in front of the passenger seat, then he had the car in gear and he was racing towards jenna's apartment. he was stopped twice, if only because of the glaring traffic lights, and after only twenty minutes of driving he was pulling into an empty slot outside the apartment complex.he parked and grabbed his bag of goodies. on his way up to jen's apartment thoughts he'd been avoiding plagued his mind. jenna was pregnant, he'd fathered a child. even after all of his precautionary measures, it did seem as though karma was a bitch, if you believed in such menial things. he'd reacted fairly well to the news, but perhaps that was do to the shock. he'd reached her door in a mindless haze, and then he knocked, "jen, it's me, open up."

jenna had never been more terrified of anything in her life. when she and jasper had started sleeping together, she hadn't expected it to amount to anything. sure, he was attractive, but she wasn't expecting them to start dating or anything of the like. but now, here she was, a month and a half pregnant with his child and wishing his girlfriend didn't exist. even though he already knew about the baby, she was still nervous. she was glad he was coming over for the night, but she was still terrified. she was having his baby, and he had a girlfriend that wasn't her. she was more terrified than she was a week ago when she'd first found out about the pregnancy. after taking approximately six home pregnancy tests spread between two weeks, she'd finally gone to the doctor. the news she'd been given was enough to make her heart stop and her stomach twist. the doctor had told her she was about a month and a half pregnant and although the doctor had been filled with nothing but joy for her, jenna had been far from happy. she'd managed to keep her composure until reaching her car, which was she'd mentally broken down. she couldn't be pregnant. not with jasper's baby. he had a girlfriend that he seemed to be genuinely happy with. she didn't want to tell him; her biggest fear was ruining what he had with his girlfriend. but after about a week, she'd finally mustered up a bit of courage to call him and tell him. even though she was terrified of his reaction, she'd done what she did best: hide what she really felt. she'd been doing it for a few weeks now around jasper. she'd developed a different view on their relationship and she genuinely liked him. jenna had been able to play it off well on the phone, even though her heart had been pounding nervously the entire time. she was relieved when he agreed to come over. not becaue he was bringing her food and the possibility of sex, but because she didn't want to be alone. she wanted - needed - him. she was scared to death of her life for the next seven and a half months and beyond and she just needed someone there. even though she logically knew it was impossible, jenna swore she could feel a bump on her stomach every time she rested her hands there. she'd been doing it for the past week and had gotten in the habit of talking to the baby growing in her womb. she lived by herself and no one else to talk to, so she naturally had been talking to the child that was developing inside her. jenna stood up and went to the door when she heard a knock, rolling her eyes at the sound of jasper's voice on the other side. "calm down, i'm coming." she unlocked the door and opened it, not being able to help the smile that arose on her face. "hey," she glanced down at his hands, reaching out and taking the bag from him. "you're amazing. thank you so much." she let him in and shut the door behind him, locking it as well. her stomach roared as she caught a nose full of the food, walking into the living room and setting it down on the coffee table. "i promise we can go into my room soon, but right now, i'm starving." even though she wanted to break down and tell him how terrified she was of being pregnant, having a baby and then becoming a mother, jenna didn't want to worry him. |

set the zippers free he had never intended on cheating on mona, his bombshell of a girlfriend. he was happy with her, content, and she seemed to bring a little light to his life. so you can imagine his surprise when he met jenna and a sudden piece of him yearned for her. he'd never realized he was missing anything until she came along, and being jasper he could not ignore or deny it. he didn't regret what he and jenna shared, a sort of physical attraction that reigned supreme, it just sort of caught him off guard. he indulged in pleasures, and it seemed only fitting that some sort of consequence befell him, but even to him, a child seemed a little much.he had absolutely no intention of telling mona about jenna or the child she was carrying, which probably made him out to be the bad guy, but honestly, he was just selfish. he'd had no intention of informing jenna about mona either, but she had seen them, she had put two and two together, what if mona did the same? could he stand to lose her? he wasn't sure. though the idea of leaving jenna also pained him. he'd had his cake and he'd ate it too, but indulging in such things made it nearly impossible for him to decide which he wanted more.a deep sigh resonated within him, he didn't want to think about it. there was plenty of time to sort it all out and think it all through. though jasper was currently under the impression that jenna didn't want him in their child's life, if only because she kept suggesting that he should just walk away. jen, however, didn't know that jasper's dad walked out on his family when he was just three. jas couldn't imagine doing that to his kids, regardless if they were planned or accidental.he felt a smile tug at his lips when he'd heard her echoing response, and sure enough, just moments later, the door opened. his eyes zeroed in on her belly, searching for some sort of physical evidence that confirmed her pregnancy declarations, he saw nothing. she was still slender as ever, no bump protruding from her stomach. he realized now his imagination had run with the idea, deluding him into thinking she was farther along than the six weeks she'd mentioned. he chuckled as she took the food from him, "no problem." he said, following her into the apartment. he lowered himself into an empty seat and waved her off, "take your time, i'm in no hurry." and it was true, they had all night.

jenna didn't know why she hadn't brought up the subject matter of jasper's girlfriend to him before now. she hadn't had the intention of being "the other girl" when she had first hooked up with him. he hadn't told her about a girlfriend when they'd first met. as far she had known, he was single as could be. he seemed to have no remorse the morning after they'd first slept together. nothing had ever felt wrong about their relationship; at least on her end. as soon as she'd seen jasper walking around town hand in hand with a different girl, jenna had assumed he was going to tell her they couldn't see each other anymore. but when she'd called him the next day to test her theory, he came over as eager to see her as ever. she wasn't quite sure how long jasper had been dating the same girl, but she had enough instinct to know that the time jenna had seen them wasn't their first date. they'd been much too comfortable around each other. she also didn't know why she hadn't said anything herself. she didn't want to be the girl jasper was cheating on his girlfriend with. she didn't want to be the reason he and his girlfriend broke up. she didn't want any of that. she would rather have to raise their baby alone than risk jasper's happiness. jenna knew telling him she was pregnant, and then telling him he didn't have to be around wasn't normal, but she was more concerned with his life than her own. raising a baby on her own wasn't the first thing on her to do list, but if it kept jasper happy with his girlfriend, she was more than willing to do it. she didn't want him to have to tell his girlfriend he'd gotten jenna pregnant. she knew girls well enough to know that she wouldn't want anything to do with him and that she would've ruined the relationship jasper had with his girlfriend. even if he wasn't necessarily happy with her, she didn't want to risk anything. she noticed his eyes automatically went to her stomach. jenna had done the same thing when she'd first found out she was pregnant, but had been almost shocked to find that her stomach was still flat. she knew she wasn't supposed to start showing for another few months, but she still caught herself looking every now and then. she let jasper's look slide, knowing he was searching for evidence to prove that she wasn't just messing with him. she glanced up as he took a seat, pulling the take out box from the bag. she went into the kitchen, throwing the bag away and grabbing a fork before walking back into the kitchen. she picked up the box from the coffee table and sat next to him, turning her body towards him. she rested her legs in his lap, looking up at him as she took a bite. "you didn't have to bring me food. i really didn't think you were going to say yes." she had her doubts about him coming over that night as well. her guess had been that he wouldn't want anything more to do with her. "do you want some? i don't mind sharing at all. you did buy it." |

set the zippers free sometimes in life, there comes a point where decisions have to be made, and ties must be severed. instead of doing the right thing, instead of making the seemingly impossible choice, jasper merely took it in stride. he kept them both, mona and jenna. they were two separate women, different for many reasons, and similar in certain aspects. they were unique to jasper, and although it seemed an impossible thing, they both wanted him. although he'd never been denied by those he fancied, it seemed wrong that these two creatures could ever want anything to do with him, and yet, they did. how then could he turn them away? how could he deny them? such flawless creatures, and although he knew it to be wrong, he couldn't help himself. lust seemed a more potent thing, even more so than the judgement of wrong and right. he was surely made to be a bad person, a mad man even, and yet, he could not deny the women of his dreams.perhaps he seems cruel, having fathered a child, and seeming unmoved by the news, perhaps his own emotions were tempered, dormant, hiding away so that he might not have to face the true weight of the situation he's gotten himself into. not that jasper could find a morsel of remorse. he did not regret his time with jenna, perhaps the fact that she was now pregnant, and at odds end now. yes, he did regret that. she did not deserve to have this sort of thing placed on her, especially knowing that jasper was not one hundred percent committed to her, though they had never tried to make their 'relationship' for lack of a better word, known. they had not been exclusive and perhaps it shouldn't have come as a shock to her that he was seeing another woman. what might have come as a great surprise was that he was with mona, the other woman, months before he'd ever met jenna. now that may have been a crushing blow.he could not find the right emotions, and in truth he still did not fully believe the tale in which he'd been told. sure, it seemed unlikely that jenna would make such things up, there was nothing to gain, except maybe the destruction of his happy relationship, but he didn't take her for the vindictive type, especially since he was a willing participant in the possibility of a child. but still, the lack of evidence on his part had him skeptical, of course he wasn't going to bring that to her attention. he would keep his doubts to himself, and carry on as if nothing had changed. which seemed sick almost. even now, with news of a tiny human forming within her womb, jasper could not find the nerve to tell mona of his scandalous relationship with jenna. he was a pathetic excuse of a human being.life, however, spins madly on and although there would surely be worse consequences to pay in the future, he would leave it for the future. no point in dwelling on the what if's and what have i done's. he would face those when the time truly called for it. for now though, he would relish in the company of his impregnated mistress, which only seemed a dirty sort of word, but in truth that was the role she had taken, unbeknowest to her of course. he cared deeply, for both of the women in his life, and he couldn't imagine hurting them, but he'd obviously done that the moment he'd decided to ignore his better judgement and get involved with jenna. in the end, however this ended, either one or both would be devastated and the more suitable result would be him, jasper, winding up alone. what a bitter future that seemed, but one well deserved, no doubt.he shook his head, laughing, "i told you that you should have a little more faith in me, no?" he slid his hands along her legs momentarily before taking up her left foot in his hands, massaging it. "i'm not that bad, am i?" he questioned, arching a brow as he turned his gaze on her. he shook his head, "no, i'm fine, you eat."
